According to data released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of visitors to Türkiye in the first half of 2024 increased by 13.91 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching a total of 26.136 million. Of these visitors, 21.644 million were foreign tourists, while 4.492 million were Turkish citizens residing abroad.

In June 2024 alone, the number of foreign visitors to Turkey rose by 4.95 percent compared to June 2023, amounting to 5.860 million.
Decrease in Visitors from Germany

Germany, however, saw a significant decline in the number of visitors to Turkey in June 2024. The number of German tourists fell by 10.41 percent, totaling 614,000 visitors. Despite this drop, Russia led the list of countries sending the most visitors to Turkey in June, with a 6.31 percent increase and 871,000 visitors. The United Kingdom followed with a 11.20 percent increase and 563,000 visitors, placing third. Poland and Iran were also among the top countries sending visitors to Türkiye.

For the first half of the year, Russia remained the top country sending visitors to Turkey, with a 2.87 percent increase, reaching 2.688 million visitors. Germany was second, with a 8.68 percent increase and 2.467 million visitors. The United Kingdom showed a significant 19.08 percent increase, with 1.773 million visitors, placing third. Iran and Bulgaria followed in the rankings.
