The record increase in holiday prices in Türkiye has led to a surge in interest from Turkish citizens in the Greek Islands, making it one of the most discussed topics in the industry. While hotels in Türkiye face occupancy issues even during the peak season, the high interest in the Greek Islands has drawn the industry's attention, prompting a statement from TÜRSAB on the matter.

In a statement on the social media platform X, TÜRSAB President Firuz Bağlıkaya clarified that they do not have a request to abolish the visa on arrival policy for the Greek Islands. Bağlıkaya made the following statement:

"Regarding the rumors about the abolition of the visa on arrival policy for the Greek Islands, I would like to clarify that we, as travel agencies, have no such request. If there is a downturn in tourism, the solution is not to hinder travel to our competitors but to identify the source of tourist dissatisfaction. If our citizens cannot find the opportunity to vacation in their own country and opt for vacations abroad, it cannot be considered a success in tourism."
