According to data obtained by Tourism Databank from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of international tourists visiting Muğla increased by 12% in the January-June period of 2024, rising from 1.11 million to 1.25 million. During this period, the number of foreign tourists increased by 10.7%, from 1.037 million to approximately 1.148 million. The number of domestic visitors also saw a 30.4% increase, rising from 78,000 to 103,000.
British tourists lead the way
Among the foreign visitors to the city during this period, the UK ranked first with 595,000 visitors, marking a 12.6% increase compared to 2023. This market was followed by Russia with 117,000 visitors and Poland with 102,000 visitors. Germany followed them with 81,000 visitors. Among these markets, only Russia experienced a decline of 6.2%.
