Tourism representatives of Türkiye took part in ITB Shanghai Tourism Fair with organization of Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA).

Turkish participants highlighted that Türkiye is among the top three fastest-growing destinations in the Chinese tourism market.

Representatives from Akay Tourism, Faruk Okudur and Alp Sargın, reported that they very strong interest to Türkiye at the fair. Alp Sargın noted that they expect to welcome Chinese tourists, primarily to Antalya, as early as the 2024 season. He mentioned that Akay Travel's preparations over the past six months to adapt to the dynamism and diversity of the Chinese market are beginning to bear fruit. “The strength of classic Destination Management Companies (DMCs) as a reliable source for national operators, who are leaders in their markets, is reaffirmed in the Chinese market,” Sargın added.

Faruk Okudur stated, “Our Chinese partners have expressed that Türkiye is one of the top three fastest-growing destinations in China. Chinese tourism professionals, expecting this growth to continue rapidly, cited the ease of e-visa processes and new direct flights as key factors driving this expansion.”
