In the iconic ‘Old Mardin’ area, known for its stunning architecture that reflects the region’s heritage, Continent Worldwide Hotels has agreed to manage a spectacular building. This new establishment will operate under the premium segment brand of Swiss Inn 'Premium Collection'. The agreement was finalized and signed recently.
The investment comes from Artuklu Kervansarayı Turizm Yatırımları, headed by Chairman Sabahattin Evrensel, a company with diverse business interests in tourism, construction, and other sectors. The firm, which also manages the popular Artuklu Kervansaray Hotel, continues to play a significant role in the region’s tourism industry. The historic building, constructed in 1275 by the Artukids and converted into a hotel after restoration in 2004, is one of the first caravanserais in the area.
At the signing ceremony, Sabahattin Evrensel stated: “As a company dedicated to adding unique value to Mardin for years, we aimed to address a persistent gap in the hospitality sector by adding a new facility. While there are many small and medium-sized establishments in the area, there was no ‘branded’ facility. With our new investment, we built an authentic, high-end establishment in harmony with the local texture and decided to partner with a firm we believe will bring us international recognition. Partnering with Continent Worldwide Hotels under the Swiss Inn brand was the most logical choice for us.”
Scheduled to commence operations in September 2025, Swiss Inn Premium Collection Mardin will feature a main restaurant, a fine dining à la carte restaurant with a terrace, multipurpose meeting rooms, and a male and female spa center. The rooms will be elegantly decorated, blending historical elements with modern luxury.
Ethem Zagikyan, Chairman of Continent Worldwide Hotels, expressed his enthusiasm at the signing event: “We are delighted to introduce a new, locally rooted yet internationally standardized brand to Mardin. With this project, we have enhanced the historic beauty of Old Mardin. This accomplishment fills us with pride. We especially want to thank Sabahattin Evrensel for providing us with this opportunity and placing his trust in us.”
