The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism has released data on the number of visitors to the country for November and the first 11 months of 2024.
According to the ministry's figures, the number of foreign visitors to Türkiye in November increased by 8.25 percent compared to the same month last year, reaching 2.73 million. Germany ranked as the top source of tourists with 281,000 visitors, followed by Iran with 258,000, the Russian Federation with 254,000, Bulgaria with 232,000, and the United Kingdom with 128,000.
50 million foreign visitors in 11 months
Between January and November 2024, Türkiye recorded a 7 percent year-on-year increase in foreign visitors, totaling 50.04 million. During this period, the Russian Federation remained Türkiye’s leading tourism market, with a 6.9 percent increase bringing 6.5 million visitors. Germany followed with 6.36 million visitors, marking a 6.8 percent rise. The United Kingdom showed a notable 16.9 percent increase with 4.34 million visitors, while Iran saw the highest growth rate at 31.9 percent, contributing 3.02 million visitors.
7 million visits by Turkish citizens living abroad
In the same 11-month period, approximately 7.3 million Turkish citizens residing abroad visited Turkey. When this figure is included, the total number of visitors to Turkey from January to November 2024 rises to 57.3 million.
These statistics underline Türkiye's strong performance as a global tourism destination, showcasing its continued appeal to international travelers.
