According to data from the Central Bank of Türkiye (TCMB), the direct foreign capital investment in Türkiye's tourism sector increased from 10 million dollars to 24 million dollars in the first quarter of 2024.
The investment in direct foreign capital into the accommodation and food service activities (Tourism) increased from 10 million dollars to 24 million dollars during the same period, based on the analysis by Turizm Databank from TCMB data.
Meanwhile, the direct foreign capital investment abroad increased from 8 million dollars to 26 million dollars during this period.
What does foreign capital mean?
Foreign capital refers to the flows of capital from one country to another that grant a substantial ownership stake in domestic companies and various assets to a foreign investor. Direct foreign investment involves physical investments like constructing production facilities, or purchasing real estate, machinery, factories, and other equipment by foreigners in a foreign country.
