The Vakantiebeurs Utrecht Tourism Fair in the Netherlands has opened its doors, running until January 14. Türkiye participated in the fair with a 200-square-meter booth. More than 25 companies with a focus on Türkiye are reported to have participated in the fair.
Yıldıray Karaer, Chairman of the Board of Corendon Airlines, who attended the fair, mentioned that they have increased their airplane capacities by 15% in 2024. He stated, "We see an interest in Türkiye. In pre-bookings, there is a 45 percent increase compared to the same period last year. However, demand had slowed down a bit last year due to a price shock. Right now, that shock has been overcome. If there is no serious problem this year, we expect a 15-20 percent increase."
Karaer also mentioned that they have allocated 900 thousand seats to 15 countries, including Türkiye. He said they plan to allocate more than a third to Turkey and the rest to the other 14 countries.
Kaan Kavaloğlu, President of the Mediterranean Hoteliers and Operators Association (AKTOB), stated that the first picture of the European market was taken at the Vakantiebeurs Utrecht Tourism Fair, indicating a 10 percent increase in the European market in 2023 compared to the previous year.
