Wizz Air's inaugural flight from Bucharest to Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport was welcomed with a ceremony. The Izmir-Bucharest flights will be conducted on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays, with three frequencies per week.

Inaugural flight details

The W4 3125 flight, operated with an Airbus A321, brought 200 passengers to Izmir. Passengers were greeted with flowers at the terminal. Wizz Air will continue to operate direct flights between Izmir and Bucharest three times a week until October 20, 2024.

Erkan Balcı, General Manager of TAV Ege, expressed his joy at the resumption of direct flights between Izmir and Bucharest after five years. "We are delighted to see the restart of direct flights between Izmir and Bucharest after a five-year hiatus. We are working with our stakeholders to connect Izmir to the world with direct flights. We eagerly anticipate welcoming passengers from all over the world," Balcı said.
