Türkiye is approaching 60 million visitor target in the year 2023. According to the data from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, The total number of visitors choosing Türkiye has exceeded 50.2 million in the first 10 months of the year.
Number of foreigners out of 10 months visitor is 44,2 million while residents living abroad accounted for 6 million.
The number of foreigners choosing Türkiye for their holidays has shown an 11.58 percent increase compared to the same period in the previous year.
Most visitors came from Russia
In the list of countries sending the most visitors to Türkiye in the January-October period, the Russian Federation ranked first place with 5.8 million visitors, an increase of 26 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
Germany followed as the second with an 8.38 percent increase and 5,7 million people, while the United Kingdom (UK) was third with a 12.28 percent increase and about 3,6 million. Bulgaria and Iran followed the UK.
Leader of October is Germany
The number of foreign visitors to Türkiye in October increased by 3.83 percent compared to the same month in the previous year, reaching about 5 million.
In the ranking of countries sending the most visitors in October, Germany took the first place with 860 thousand people, followed by Russia with 672 thousand and the United Kingdom (UK) with 441 thousand. Bulgaria and Iran followed the UK.
