The agreement aims to further enhance Türkiye's tourism attractiveness in both new and existing source markets. It was signed by Thierry Aucoc, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for Europe at Emirates, and İsmail Bütün, Director General of TGA.

Under the new agreement, Emirates and TGA will collaborate to promote tourism to Türkiye and increase passenger traffic from key markets within Emirates' global network of over 140 destinations. Emirates will explore opportunities to organize promotional trips to Türkiye and will also collaborate with TGA on joint marketing and promotional campaigns that highlight Türkiye's uniqueness and increase its visibility.

Genel Manager of TGA, İsmail Bütün, stated, "Türkiye welcomed 56.7 million visitors in 2023, marking a 10 şpercent increase compared to the previous year. 2023 was the best year for our industry so far. In the first quarter of 2024, which continues the growth trend, we attracted over 9 million visitors. Thus, the number of tourists from January to March increased by 16.7 percent compared to the same period last year. The new partnership between Emirates and TGA will further support the growing tourism sector and create new opportunities for future growth."

Currently, Emirates operates 21 weekly flights to Istanbul using Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 passenger aircraft. The airline also offers passengers two daily flights between Dubai and Sabiha Gökçen Airport through its codeshare agreement with flydubai.
