India's growing influence in global tourism

With a population of over 1.4 billion, India stands out as a significant player in the global tourism market. In 2023, Türkiye hosted 274,159 Indian tourists, recognizing India as a priority growth market.

To boost the number of visitors from India, TGA organized a tour for 32 Indian travel agencies from OTOAI to showcase Türkiye's tourism destinations.

Discovering Türkiye's rich cultural heritage

Starting their tour in Antalya, the agencies visited hotels suitable for traditional Indian weddings and experienced many of Antalya's cultural riches, from the ancient city of Side to Kaleiçi.

In Denizli, they visited Pamukkale and the ancient city of Hierapolis, followed by a visit to the ancient city of Ephesus and the Ephesus Experience Museum in İzmir, exploring the city's cultural and tourism routes.

Building connections in Istanbul

In the final leg of their tour, the agencies arrived in Istanbul, where they held one-on-one meetings with Turkish tourism stakeholders such as hotels and agencies.

Ongoing efforts to promote Türkiye in India

In addition to these tours, TGA frequently hosts famous Indian film stars, journalists, and social media influencers. TGA also participates in the most important tourism fair in the Indian market, organizes promotional events for tourism stakeholders in different cities of India, and continues to collaborate on advertising and social media campaigns.
